Setting up Files Ready for Print
To ensure a smooth and cost efficient flow of your job through our prepress, please follow our guidelines to setting up your files as below:
- The size is correct to original quote. Please inform us if it has changed at all, even if it’s 1mm different.
- Only the correct colours are used.
- If spot varnishes are required, make them up on a separate layer and create a spot colour named "varnish" and ensure it is overprinting.
- Diecuts and scores are a spot colour named “diecut” or “knife” and are overprinting.
- Your document size should be exactly the finished size. If the job is to be diecut this is important. DO NOT leave your job floating on an oversized Illustrator or InDesign page.
- If you are confident your file is correct, a Press Quality PDF is preferred. Make sure it has 3mm bleed and crop marks.
- If you are not so confident with your file, supply all original files, images and fonts associated with the job.
- Ensure there is always a minimum of 3mm bleed.
- If your job is a spiral bound or individual page book, ensure file is set out as single pages with 3mm bleed on all sides.
