The Printpoint Queensland Masters Surfing Circuit is a three event series which continues to set the benchmark for the old stagers of the Queensland surfing community. The state's premier masters circuit continued to gain momentum in 2008 with a record number of surfers entering across the three rounds of competition.

Surfing Queensland staged the professionally run circuit, with the latest in computer judging plus experienced organisation.

More than 200 surfers from throughout the state hit the waves to contest the three round circuit.

The Gold Coast hosted the opening round followed by the Sunshine Coast for round two before the third and final round of the series wrapped up on North Stradbroke Island.

EVENT ONE - GOLD COAST
The top masters surfers lit up the waves on the Gold Coast in March, with the first round of the circuit kicking off.

Duranbah provided the ideal forum with an 80-strong field shredding a clean 3-4 ft of swell over the two day tournament.

Winners including Mark Richardson in both the O/28 and O/35 age divisions, Chris Brooks in the O/40's, Mark Traucnieks in the O/45's, Peter Eales in the 50's and Paul Neilsen in the O/55's.

EVENT TWO - SUNSHINE COAST
Following record numbers in the opening round of the circuit on the Gold Coast in March, round two again attracted strong attention from the states's hottest senior surfers as they ripped up Coolum Beach in the prestigius tournament.

Currumbin stalwart Mark 'Richo' Richardson fell just short of back-to-back double victores, taking out the blue ribbon senior men's title before being pipped at the post in the O/35's.

EVENT THREE - NORTH STRADBROKE ISLAND
Surfing's elder statesmen proved they can still mix it in the wave stakes going toe-to-toe for the prestigious state crowns at the third and final stop of the Printpoint Queensland Masters Surfing Circuit at North Stradbroke island in November.

For a third year running, a 60 strong filed made the crossing to battle it out across six separate divisions for elusive state titles. The 17 surfers, who will represent Queensland at the Australian Open Surfmasters in '09, were also determined.
