Traditional printing relies on water and additives being applied to the non-image areas, while the ink is attracted to the image areas. In waterless printing the non-image areas are left with an ink rejecting coating. |

Waterless printing allows finer screen rulings on all stocks to 200–300 lines per inch — even on uncoated stocks.
