Waterless printing is an industrial revolution!

  • It eliminates the use of water and increases quality.
  • It eliminates hazardous, ozone depleting isoprophyl alcohol.

What the waterless process does to colour is astonishing. Ink absorbs one third of its' weight in water and without the contamination of water, inks stay pure. Colours emerge from the press with a vibrant impact that virtually lifts the image off the paper.

Understanding Waterless Printing

Traditional printing relies on water and additives being applied to the non-image areas, while the ink is attracted to the image areas. In waterless printing the non-image areas are left with an ink rejecting coating.

LESS DOT GAIN
Clients seek high quality, accurate colour reproduction. Using the waterless process reduces dot gain dramatically.

FINER SCREEN RULINGS
Waterless printing allows finer screen rulings on all stocks to 200–300 lines per inch — even on uncoated stocks.

GREATER DETAIL
Up to 50% less dot gain provides greater photographic detail. Achieve more clarity and depth, especially in mid-tone and shadow areas of a picture.

BRIGHTER COLOURS
With less dot gain more ink is applied, resulting in a vibrancy of colour like never before.

COLOUR CONSISTENCY
Once optimum colour is achieved it remains consistent throughout the run.

The image above demonstrates the sharper edge to dots which waterless printing can achieve, which equates to a sharper image on paper.
